On 31/03/2018, SCOPE and SCORE held this year's Pre-Exchange Training (PET) at the KU Leuven University
Gasthuisberg campus. Over 100 medical and biomedical students from all over Belgium had the opportunity not only to learn new skills, but also form relationships with representatives of 7 Flemish and Wallonian universities.
The aim of the event was to prepare our outgoing exchange students for all the tasks and challenges their internships may present them with.
The program consisted of info sessions on travelling and living abroad, ethical debates and many more!
Professor Franck Verschuren (UCL) gave a lecture on hospital hygiene, suturing and pain management for all students selected for a clinical internship, while SCORE students were presented research projects, carried out by their predecessors. The SCORE Poster Fair was supervised by Professor Missiaen (KUL).
Finally, our Capacity Building team gave a series of workshops on mental health, public speaking as well as conflict management.
We would like to thank the entire Exchange Team for their hard work, as well as all participants allowing this day to be the success that it was. We would also like to express our gratitude to Professor Verschuren and Professor Missiaen for their help.
