Dear BeMSA enthousiast!
We hope you are as happy as us to meet together with the other people who joined BeMSA, at a wonderful event: our one and only BeMSA NGA! This is where you’re thinking: oh no, abbreviations again? Well you don’t really have to remember what it stands for (national general assembly), as long as you understand that YOU (yes, you there) are needed to make this day/weekend an awesome one!
Please, put the date in your agenda: Saturday, October 6th, starting at 9 A.m. (arrival from 8.30)!
What to expect from this day?
1) A lot of fun and meeting interesting people
2) A day to get to know BeMSA (even more)
3) A day to become a part of this crazy BeMSA world!
What will we offer you?
- Sessions, from which you can choose:
o Newcomers sessions: this is the perfect opportunity for you who had trouble with getting the 3 letters of this day right (NGA), as everything – from A to Z – will be explained to you, all you need to know, along with some games to get to know each other.
In the afternoon, you will follow the session of the standing committee of your choice (don’t worry for this yet – it will be clear in the morning what it is)!
o SCORP session
o SCOPH session
o SCORA session
o SCORE+SCOPE session
o Presidents session
- Lunch and dinner
- A training in smaller groups
- Teambuilding activities throughout the day
You can find the agenda here. Now, what does this all mean?
In the morning, everyone is expected to attend one of the sessions (see above). Just after lunch, we will be divided in 4 to 5 groups for a training session of your choice! Indeed, we need your input to decide which trainings will be held at this NGA! You can give us your input through the registration form. In the afternoon, you will go back to your morning group to finish the session.
TO-members (2018-2019) are invited from Friday evening to Sunday noon, all LC members are welcome to stay over from Saturday to Sunday 😊. “Old” TO members (term 2017-2018) can stay from Friday to Saturday, and even prolong until Sunday if they wish.

For local committees, your attendance is greatly appreciated between 8.30 A.m. and 9 A.m. on Saturday morning.

We don’t need to wait until green-earth day. Organising green events within BeMSA, such as the upcoming NGA, should be the new future. That being said, we would like to appoint a green team.
The Green Team
The Green Team would be a group of general delegees who take charge on national and local level of reducing the organisation’s carbon footprint and improving environmental performance through a series of realistic goals. These goals, small or big, can vary from going paperless for the next term, no plastic rule, using bikes to shuttle, using ‘Ecosia’ as main search engine, organizing plant trees projects to locally donating food left overs to the poor. Once approved by the EB, these goals will be tracked and assessed upon at every NGA. Only by monitoring their progress towards achieving a green term and evaluating the outcome of their actions, can we truly be one step closer to a sustainable future.
If you are interested to join our newest green team, please contact Secgen@bemsa.be.
For City Representatives: You will receive a more detailed email before Sept 15th entitled “Sharing documents NGA 7/10”. Don’t forget to read this through if you don’t want the plenary to end at night.
If 1 city representative can’t be there, he/she can vote by proxy - if he/she has given a written and signed document to the other city representative (or to someone else attending the plenary in his/her place)
As the weekend will be the very first NGA of the term, you can order your national BeMSA sweater, yippie! Although not mandatory, we highly encourage to wear them during your time with us. If you order your sweater ahead of the NGA, you will receive it during the weekend. If you want to add a line (with your new function) on your current sweater, we ask you to hand us your sweater during the weekend. When printed, sweaters will be redistributed (this means after the NGA, we will find a way).
